It’s important to test the pH when using pH DOWN. pH should be lowered no more than 0.5 units every 24 hours. Do no treat the pond more than once every 24 hours. Plants and algae cause a temporary increase in pH in the afternoon, therefore, pH should be tested in the morning to obtain the lowest reading. For ornamental pond use only.

Carefully mix desired dose with 2 U.S. gallons of pond water in a plastic container and distribute evenly around the perimeter of the pond. First, test the pH level of the water with the API POND WIDE RANGE pH TEST KIT. Then, use dosing cap on bottle to add 5 ml (1 tsp.) of pH DOWN for each 50 U.S. gallons (190 L) of pond water. Wait 24 hours, then test pH again. Repeat treatment as necessary. Tip: pH DOWN works by slowly neutralizing alkaline substance that cause high pH in pond water.
